Windows images for university workstations
Prepared reusable Windows images and recovery instructions for different types of university workstations.
Context
At Artsakh State University, I supported computers with different hardware and uses. Administrative offices, computer labs, and presentation rooms needed different software and settings. I prepared reusable Windows images to make these recurring setups more consistent.
My contribution
I configured and tested systems in virtual machines, installed the required software, and created images with Acronis. I used VirtualBox, then VMware Workstation, and later Hyper-V for preparation and testing.
I prepared different images for each workstation type and its hardware needs, updated them when requirements changed, and documented their versions, software, and settings. My instructions covered the steps after recovery: installing drivers, checking programs, configuring the network, registering the computer, and connecting peripherals. I prepared the images and documentation; my manager and colleague also used them.
Working approach
When software or settings changed, I revised an existing image or prepared a new one. The remaining work after recovery followed the written instructions.
The original images and instructions are not published on this site.
Outcome
My colleagues used the images and instructions when setting up and restoring university computers.
